Underwritten membership · Limited capacity · Los Angeles first

Not unemployment. Reintegration.

Career disruption destroys structure, belonging, and momentum. The Funemployment Agency is built for professionals who want a dignified transition with real cadence, real access, and real follow-through.

Coverage is participation-verified. This is a credits-first reintegration model designed for members who want structure and accountability.

How it works

1) Contribute while employed
Members contribute to The Funemployment Agency network while employed by attending or facilitating events. Enrollment is underwritten. Pricing is determined through review, not self-selection.
2) Activate during disruption
Voluntary quit and layoffs are eligible. The Funemployment Agency is designed for dignity-first transitions: minimal bureaucracy, clear expectations, and a faster return to momentum.
3) Reintegration, not drifting
Members receive credits and a structured cadence inside a third-space ecosystem. The goal is a steadier, better-matched return.

What members receive

  • Third-space ecosystem access (salons, reintegration programming)
  • Coworking / space usage (partner venues and Agency sessions)
  • Workshops and coaching, designed as a cadence (not inspiration)
  • Curated introductions (witness + network effects, not job-board churn)
Benefits are designed credits-first. Cash is minimized by design.

What makes this different

  • Credits-first benefits, not cash-first payouts
  • Behavioral participation verification, not humiliating paperwork
  • Enkidu-powered trust events as underwriting signal and anti-fraud backbone
“We don’t pay you to drift; we fund verified reintegration through credits, structure, and participation.”

Verification is the product

The Funemployment Agency treats showing up as signal. Benefits are earned through repeated, measurable participation in a third space and a reintegration cadence.

Participation requirements (preview)
  • Third-space presence, verified by check-in
  • Weekly cadence completion (short, concrete, on-time)
  • Peer witness participation (salon / circle / matched 1:1)
  • Trust events logged with mutual confirmation
  • Curated introductions followed through
Why it matters
Underwriting improves when participation is legible. Outcomes improve when benefits are tied to presence and follow-through. Reintegration accelerates when structure is enforced without humiliation.

This is a high-discretion membership. We don’t publish member lists. We don’t gamify participation. We keep the work quiet and real.

Details vary by underwriting and cohort capacity. This brief is a public abstract, not a contract.

What a week looks like

The Funemployment Agency runs on cadence. We don’t reward “searching.” We reward follow-through. Each week includes one in-person third-space session, one short reintegration check-in, and one peer witness requirement.

Sample weekly cadence (Founding Cohort: Los Angeles)
  • Mon -- Weekly check-in released (5 minutes). Due 11:59pm.
  • Tue -- Optional coworking (partner venue).
  • Wed -- Third-space cadence (in-person). Required.
  • Thu -- Peer witness touchpoint required (circle / salon / matched 1:1).
  • Fri -- Curated introduction window. Respond within 24 hours.
  • Weekend -- No mandatory programming. Optional “open hours.”
Why cadence matters
Reintegration becomes real when participation is legible. Cadence makes benefits non-exploitable and outcomes repeatable: without bureaucracy. This system is intentionally demanding. The structure is the benefit.

Hard rule: no one drifts quietly.
Cadence varies by cohort capacity and underwriting. This is a sample schedule to clarify the discipline required.

Credits explained

Credits are not money. Credits are a controlled reintegration budget that can only be spent inside The Funemployment Agency ecosystem. This prevents drift, improves signal integrity, and ties benefits to presence and follow-through.

Example credit wallet
  • Example: $1,200 for 1200 Agency Credits / month
  • Refreshed monthly during disruption window
  • Expires at month-end (prevents hoarding + avoidance)
  • Non-transferable, non-cashable
What credits can buy (illustration)
  • Coworking day pass: 90 credits
  • Salon session (ticketed): 120 credits
  • Reintegration workshop: 160 credits
  • Portfolio / resume clinic: 180 credits
  • 1:1 coaching session: 250 credits
  • Curated intro deposit (refundable on attendance): 75 credits
  • Partner venue cadence bundle (coffee/meal): 40 credits
Spend rules
  • Credits can only be spent inside approved ecosystem items.
  • Credits cannot be cashed out.
  • Redemption may require check-ins / receipts / session attendance.
  • Missed attendance may forfeit credit spend.
Credit pricing varies by cohort and underwriting. These numbers exist to make the product concrete.

The gate

Do not apply if:
  • You want cash-first benefits.
  • You want support without participation requirements.
  • You’re not looking for structure, cadence, or accountability.
  • You prefer informal community over institutional reintegration.
Apply if:
  • You’re a premium-paying professional and you want a dignified transition system. (Premium-paying means professionals whose work and opportunities are primarily network-mediated rather than credential-mediated.)
  • You will comply with structured participation without needing to be coerced.
  • You want reintegration to be faster, steadier, and better matched.

Who is this for?
This is for you if you are a high-performing professional who can afford time off but do not trust unstructured time. You likely have a strong resume and real runway but when external structure disappears you do not want to drift or scramble. You are not looking for sympathy or a safety net. You want reintegration infrastructure that gives you cadence accountability and a credible story you can stand behind. This is a strong fit if you work in network-driven industries like tech, consulting, media, or agencies and you live in cities where professional identity is social identity.
What type of product is this?
This is not conventional insurance. The public-facing structure is membership coverage with underwritten eligibility and participation-verified benefits. Regulatory packaging, if any, will be explicit and jurisdiction-specific.
When will this be available?
Once we have a critical mass of Founding Cohort applications and can complete underwriting reviews. Expect invitations to review calls in late 2026, with cohort launch shortly thereafter.
Where will this be rolled out first?
Los Angeles first. Expansion city-by-city after the cohort proves signal integrity and reintegration outcomes.
Why does this exist?
Because the current system treats a career break as either a private failure or a bureaucratic problem. We think it should be a supported transition. The Funemployment Agency is built for people who want to step away (or get pushed out) without losing dignity, structure, or momentum by combining real benefits with real reintegration infrastructure, verified through participation instead of paperwork.
Isn’t “funemployment” just slang for enjoying time off?
In common usage, yes. It usually describes treating unemployment as a break for travel, hobbies, rest, or personal exploration, with structure deferred and urgency reduced. If you have enough runway, that can feel freeing. The problem is that unstructured time is not neutral for people whose careers are driven by networks, reputation, and momentum. Drift often masquerades as rest, and the longer it goes unwitnessed, the harder it is to reverse. The Funemployment Agency deliberately reclaims the term to make that risk explicit. This is not a vacation, a sabbatical, or permission to opt out. It exists for people who can afford time off but do not trust unstructured time, and who want to exit disruption without losing signal.
How do Enkidu-powered trust events help me?
They make coverage fairer and benefits easier to access. Instead of forcing you to prove your situation with endless paperwork, Enkidu uses verified participation in real-world trust events to confirm identity and follow-through. That means faster approvals, fewer invasive checks, and better terms for members who show up consistently. It also reduces fraud which helps keep pricing stable and protects the integrity of the cohort.
How are participation rules applied fairly?
Participation requirements are based on observable actions, not personal interpretation. Showing up, completing required steps, and following through on commitments are what matter. When enforcement creates friction or does not work as intended, the focus is on whether the system itself is calibrated correctly. Participation patterns are reviewed over time to catch inconsistencies or rules that are producing noise instead of signal. The Agency does not claim perfect judgment. It is designed to make judgment visible, consistent, and adjustable when it stops serving reintegration outcomes.
How do you prevent performative participation?
This system only works if participation remains truth-bearing. Showing up is necessary but not sufficient: participation is evaluated on movement, not completion. A week counts only if something becomes clearer, closes, or changes, and repeated activity without new information is treated as drift rather than diligence. Participation signals evolve over time, witness and verification may change when patterns lose meaning, and some weeks may not “count” even if activity occurred. The Funemployment Agency does not claim perfect judgment; it is designed to make judgment visible, revisable, and accountable when it stops serving reintegration outcomes.
